At 9 months of age Montana took her first Major and won the breed! The judge said "I'd rather take a chance on a beautiful young dog staying correct then go with an adult dog that is only mediocre". Montana was a sweetheart. Bred by Linda and Richard Beluscak Montana came to live with us as a gangly 10 week old pup who grew while she was sleeping. In a house of 21 Giant Schnauzers she just assumed she was the odd duckling out and she did everything that they did, even if all her legs didn't always head in the same direction at the same time. Montana was bred at the age of 3 needing only a few points to finish her Champion title (she already had her CGC) her first litter was large 12 puppies and her top line never recovered. Montana is mother to some wonderful puppies several of which have finished and her top winning son Ch Yashanti's Jewels of the Sun (Carrick) achieved #7 Irish wolfhound all systems in only 4 months of showing. Montana may nto have achieved her AKC championship but she was a champion in the hearts of many. In 2004 Montana was a Therapy dog to a young man with Autisium and his family. She was contant companion and caregiver to everyone and in return she stole tuna sandwiches (and anything else she could reach if left on the kitchen counter as payment for her work). Montana died February of 2005 in our home of Cancer. Her sweet ways and her gentleness are missed.
