Coolwhipps Cryin Time Yashanti Boo goes Best of Breed today (Aug 9, 08) and on to win the Group for her new owners in Corpus Christi Texas! Yeah Boo!!

If you believe that there are angels amoung us then trust me icey is one. She has gone to a family to help heal some very broken hearts. Check out her new photos as Icey finds a forever home in Tennesee.

We are heading out to Greenville SC end of July, then on to Canfiled OH the first weekend in August and then at the end of the month to Atlanta GA. The Standards, Whippets and Saluki's are antsey for a little out of the yard time and some show action so we are gearing up to go. The puppies are almost all in their new homes and I just love getting the photos and the emails of all these guys and gals bringing so much joy to their new homes and owners. It is the most gratifying of all of the experiences that we have with these wonderful creatures, to see the joy and light that they bring to others.

On a fantastic note and with tremendous gratitude to Karen and Kalen Dumke we are pleased to announce our newest champion whippet CH Nonsuch Cafe Verona aka Demi she finished the last weekend in June in Wisconsin from the Bred By Exhibitor Classes. WHAHOOO WAY TO GO DEMI!

While we are disappointed that Yashanti's Much ado about Nothing aka Adieu (now Lainey) will not be finishing her show career due to her emergency spay we are every so grateful to her owner Kristen whose dillegence to her dog and her awareness of something being a "bit off" in the end saved Lainey's Life. She is spayed, healthy and happy, and though her show days are over and her motherhood wont happen the most imporant part of her life will, she will be around to light Kristen's life, entertain and touch the lives of Kristen's friends and family for years to come. As soon as those stiches are out I am sure you will see Lainey on the beaches of the Gulf Coast.

There is so much to write about I have wonderful pictures from the last Perry Shows that I must post but for now let me give you the latest here at Yashanti and what has been keeping us close to home....in a word EXHAUSTION 23 puppies and we are worn out. Alix and Madison have headed off to summer camp. Madison to enjoy her last summer as a camper (and to escape the puppies for a few weeks I am sure) and Alix has accepted a position as lower barn manager in a summer camp in NJ. Jil recently married off her college roommate in a lovely ceremony and was a beautiful maid of honor opposite a beautiful bride it was a wonderful day.

Ben and Jil continue to enjoy Asia and Teegan two of Boos pups but Teegan will be coming home soon to find her forever home.

while Asia will remain co-owne d by yashanti for her further life adventures with Jil and Ben plans include freestyle and freesbie titles along with conformation plans.

Charlie is also remaining at Yashanti while Amapola ventures in co-ownership for a show career with the Von Berringer family

Tiny Tim,Stanley, Opal (aka ruby), PJ, and Lil Joe are all still here awaiting their homes of choice. Additionally we have decided to make available to special homes Gotcha (12 months old) and Bacall (16 months old) both female Bacall is pointed from the BBE classes, gotcha has not yet been shown but both dogs would be excellent show prospects, juniors dogs or pet couch potatoes and bed bugs. They are crate trained and house broken if you are interested please let us know. These are the last of the Boo, JoJo and Chai pups and all of these bitches will be spayed following the completion of thier titles later this year and in the case of Chai following her career with her junior handler. There are no future breedings planned from these girls.

This fall look for Yashanti's Much Ado About Nothing and and Yashanti's All's Well that Ends Well to hit the show rings as our next generation of show dogs. If Bacall and Gotcha are still here they will be shown also.

Beau's "sister" graduates from high school and heads to (of all places) ALABAMA for college so Beau (aka spencer) will be home for a visit this summer I wanna graduate high school in this setting too!

It's spring in Alabama the flowers are blooming in earnest yesterday morning the cars were covered in yellow pollen the trees are budding and trying to turn buds to leaves everyone is out of their homes seeding weeding and fertilizing. The sun sets after 6:30 at night and returns as a peach line in the east around 6 am and the cardinals are out in force!

It isnt too hard to wake up to beautiful 60 degree days and blue skies and today was no exception so lets see who's hanging out at yashanti today

and JoJo what have you been up to? It's easier if you have them all on one side kiddo or roll on your back they cannot nurse this way! You need housekeeping instructions from boo too!

Oh and what's this? Who else is hanging out at yashanti today and already in the white leather chair I might add? on and on the sofa? And in the bed (sorry no photos of that we were still in there too!)

This is a Saluki. She is Srinagar's Kholaleh Kaahvar, is 6 months old and beginning her show career, She will be joined in a few weeks by her older sister. In the meantime she is hanging with the whippets, the puppies and us.

Boo took time out yesterday afternoon for a romp with her teenage kids Gotcha and Hopscotch and enjoyed the warm afternoon as well as some time away from the little guys. They were happy to see their mom and kissed her immediately before tearing around the yard in an all out free for all.

Safari wore her "it's all about me so get over it" t-shirt yesterday as she felt it was a bit chilly outside and now that she is sporting a trimmer figure she felt the need for a "T" and cricket is always steady eddie in and out no matter what the weather or who is visiting she patrols the yard still for ghosts, goblins, and trolls and always reports back in that we are "all clear"

March Madness is in full swing here at Yashanti as the much awaited 3 spring litters have arrived. Coolwhips Cryin Time Yashanti (8 points one major) aka Boo was bred to CH Avalonia's Bowmore aka Robert which is a lovely breeding on the older Sportingfields pedigree. Together they produced 7 puppies 4 girls and 3 boys in black and white and silver brindle(black brindle) combinations.

Ch Nonsuch Spiced Chai Latte aka Chai was bred to Yashanti's Foul Play aka Dudley. This is a line breeding on the mothers side. Dudley is the son of Chai's sister Demi and a total outcross breeding on a swedish/italian pedigree of Airescots Primer aka Jamie Blue. Chai and Dudley produced 11 puppies 4 girls and 7 boys in a wide range of brindle colors with one silver fawn male that is a dead ringer for Dudley's sister Bacall.

Airescot's Snowdrop aka JoJo was also bred to Yashanti's Foul Play. This too is a line breeding but this time on the swedish side of Jamie Blue's pedigree bringing back into the line the style, size and standard of the European Whippet. JoJo and Dudley produced 6 puppies 2 girls and 4 boys and the entire rainbow of colors from blue to blue dilute brindle to brindle and back again.

These three litters represent the last of the Yashanti Whippets for until late 2009 or even into 2010. In June we will be out in force with our 12-18 month old puppies and finishing up the titles on the dogs that we have started but are not yet finished. Visit our whelping box for new photos as they are added we typically add a few group shots at 2 weeks (so boo's pups are up this weekend for new photos) and then beginning at 3 weeks we post individual photos for each litter. While we have not decided on themes for the litters for sure I am seriously considering sticking with March Madness as a theme for all three and naming them for teams in the different conferences/divisions.

We are bottling puppy breath and fritto puppy feet for anyone who wants some. and after 3 weeks the pups can be visited by appointment.

Nonsuch Cafe Verona AKA Demi needs 1 point to finish her AKC championship! WAY TO GO DEMI!!!!!! Demi took two years off to be a mom before persuing her championship title from the bred by class shown by her breeders Karen and Kalen Dumke. Demi is Chai's sister and rounds out the count of a full litter of Champions! from an all champion pedigree. Demi is the mother of Diana, Adieu, Dudley, Davis, Spencer (aka Beau) and Bacall all of whom say WAY TO GO MOM!
