NEWS FLASH
April 2007
Perry Ga has been good to us yet again. This was a difficult weekend as it was
our first weekend out with out the "cellphone" presence and guidance of a long
time friend/ Breeder/ mentor and Coach of Michelle, Herman and Elizabeth and an
Icon in dogs Rita Fahey (Royal Crest Standard Schnauzers) Rita passed away at the
age of 82 surrounded by friends, family and her beloved standards. Her presence
was both felt and missed all weekend long. My oldest daughter Jillian's away message
says "life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass it is about learning to dance
in the rain" So Rita this weekend we danced for you!
Thursday - We opened the four day weekend by losing every class we
were entered and that did it for the weekend.
Standard Schnauzers Biggie went BOS and Mia went RWB, Sammi did
very well as she is in the middle of her first full blown heat cycle but
she stood the test and did very well. Bella continued her loving puppy
ways kissing judges and powering her way around the ring she is quite an
striking sight as the only black in the pepper and salt line up.
Friday
Giant Schnauzers - Sabrina (Skansens Dancin Sabrina) won her second Major for a total of
9 points and Friday night her son Yashanti's Dancin
in the Moonlight won Group one in the Working group at the puppy match.
Saturday
Giant Schnauzers Long time friend and mentor Carol Thordsen and Skansen's CoCo Chanel won
the major in Giants and went on to win BOS over specials, Amy handled Sabrina and owner and
dog showed well and had a great time.

standard with a beautiful head, and lovely body shape he has a lovely front end, proper
tail set and a magnificent permanent coat that is harsh and think and really lovely.
Arnold will be an asset to black standards in this country for years to come.

OWNER: Christopher Faulk. Congratulations to Chris, Marcello and to Pamela Dahl.. Biggie went
BOS again on Sunday.

Someone once said to me "quality never struggles" and they were right all of the dogs that finished this weekend were dogs of quality. They were set apart by their breeders as show quality, meaning that they represented their breed standard well. They are cared for by their owners and then their handlers (in the case of Carol with whom Chanel lived during this brief tour to her championship) they are trained and well mannered and make my job on the weekend looks incredibly easy. The unsung hereos here are those that keep the dogs in condition and in coat in between shows, during down time and manage skillfully to blend that with life. Marcello and Michelle without the two of you NONE of this would be possible THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU these championships belong to you as well.
Congrats again to everyone and as always, first and foremost we had alot of fun!
Congratulations go out to the Von Roth Kennels of NC they finished both a dog and a bitch this weekend (Standards)
Congratulations also to Sue Butz who finished her giant schnauzer male this weekend and to all the others who picked up majors over the weekend. We hope that you had as much fun as we had in the Gyspy Caravan!
Eddie's owner submitted a neat photo for a soda ad
in the hopes of landing the ad.

Sabrina and Beth at the peach Blossom cluster April 7, 2007

Biggie resting between appearances at Peach Blossom cluster.
(Being a big star is hard work, ya know)
Back from 4 days at Perry I think we are all exhausted (well all of us that walk on two legs that is!)
Results Thursday:
Standard Schnauzers ~ Baby Bella won her class and Sammi Jo got the Major! Congrats to both, Schatzie got
BOS from the Veteran classes WAY TO GO Schatzie! and Biggie was handsome as ever but we
needed some extra mojo if we were gonna get past Dali
Giant Schnauzers ~ Sabrina looked wonderful and won her class but alas not the points
Whippets ~ Logan went winners dog for 2 points (the major was broken), Adieu won her class but did not convert
for points and Demi was in the ribbons in third place in a very large open class.
Results Friday:
Standard Schnauzers ~ Baby Bella again won her class, Sammi won her class but not the points. Schatzie again
was shown in Veterans and had the time of her life. Biggie went Breed finally beating Dali, whose
owner could not have been more gracious and kind to us in our win. As usual Biggie and I had a blast
upon our return to the group ring Go Biggie!
ring, once again Schatzie went BOS.
Giant Schnauzers ~Sabrina got the points today (2) YEAH then she was in fact Dancin' Sabrina as she
exhuberantly enjoyed all the clapping from the dobie ring and nearly killed me on one go around as
we tripped and tumbled over one another. Funny now not so at the time.
Whippets ~ very large entry I am pleased to say that we were in the ribbons in every class and that once again
Adieu got cudos from judge in the bred by class. Friday night Pat Hstings used our newest litter of
whippet pups for her puppy puzzle seminar and said that they were one of the prettiest litters of
whippets she had seen in years. That was fun and I learned alot refreshing what knowledge I had of
the puppy puzzle seminar. I highly recommend this seminar for anyone who wants to learn more
about structure on animals.
Saturday ~ No points to be had for anyone unfortunately but the weekend played out in standards and giants
that everyone entered got a piece of the weekend. Whippets we
did nothing but once again ribboned in all of our classes. The big news was that Schatzie won the Breed
from the veteran Class at 9 years of age! wow did we have fun in the group EVERYONE applauded her on
her exam and on the individual go round YEAH Schatzie momma you go GIRL!
Thank you Herman, Michelle, Chris, Marcello, BD, Robert and Amy for entrusting your precious fun loving pets to me to have so much fun with weekend in and weekend out!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Birmingham/Tuscaloosa ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Birmingham/Tuscaloosa weekend is behind us! With Freezing temps, blowing winds and beautiful sunny skies
we made it through the weekend. We had help from long johns, multiple layers of clothing, a new RV in
the gypsy compound and lots of coats! With the help of Kent and Jillian we even managed to get all the
judges back and forth to the showground's! Yippee we made it!
Well this weekend was not one of our better showings BUT we packed a lot in and as always had FUN.
It began with a call from Elizabeth that our beloved Mia was not feeling well and that while she
was sure she had not gotten "dog food poisoning" the vet wanted her at hand just in case. we are
happy to report she is feeling much better. With Mia down for the count and the major broken Sammy
Jo came along for the ride but as she only needs majors she enjoyed the relaxation and surroundings
of Chris and Marcelo's new motor home. Bella and Jolie competed Saturday and Sunday for the available
points and we are proud to congratulate BD on Bella's first two points 2 down, 13 to go...see everyone
in Perry!
In whippets this weekend we were once again queens of the reserve ribbons. Friday and Saturday both
Logan (12-18 mon) and Adieu (from the BBE classes) took Reserve and on Sunday Logan (again) and Diana
(also from the BBE class) took Reserve WB. Of special note was that Saturday Alix showed an Afghan
Hound for Eddie and Selma and got BOW and BOS, thank you Selma for having faith in Alix to do a good
job with the pupster. Also fun was that Misty Yanetta's cousin (Sarah age 10) got to show a Great
Pyrenese, took RWB (first dog show ever!) and got PAID! $20 happy Easter kiddo nice job!
In Giants 3 out of 3 days the judges told Tim that he had better watch out that with a bit more maturity
Sabrina was going to give him and his special a run for their money (it was only Sabrina and Katherine the special and her 1/2 sister for the giant entry) congratulations to Katherine on a Group placement this past weekend. More Giant news (cause it was just one of those weekends)... Hercules One of Amy's pups was tumbling in the yard Thursday and hit a sprinkler head and fractured his elbow he had surgery this morning to have two pins put in and he is doing fine but he will be down for the count for a few weeks! Apollo is at home with his new family in NY, Diana is with Amy's parents who could not bear to part with her after raising the litter, Venus is on her way to a show career with Peggy Davis and Vulcan is hanging out waiting for the right "show home/family" to come and snatch him up....what a love!
Friday night we had fun as I judged the working component of the puppy match. Amy and parents brought
4 of Sabrina's 6 pups to the match and a fun time was had by all. For those of you who have not yet
heard we are currently keeping "Cupid" (Sabrina/Paris pup) to see if we are really ready to open our
hearts one more time to a giant schnauzer ...stay tuned. In the meantime Camp Blough is open for fun!
(At least Vulcan and Cupid thought it was great fun!)
Many thanks to Wayne who not only kept me sane Sunday outside the ring but for whom we had a great time together Friday night while judging working, hound and the juniors.
Easter Sunday brunch we were nearly all present as Misty and Don Yanetta made Easter dinner at the new RV for everyone Ham deviled eggs and Bagels what a combo~ oh and did I mention GREAT Lemon pie. All in all it was another show weekend where friends, family and fun comes first, everything else is just more!
